It's become a yearly tradition, a one night treat to conclude the summer.
Every Labor Day weekend we drive west from Toronto to Grand Bend to spend a night camping with two other families. Part of our tradition involves a yearly sunset swim. As soon as we arrive we quickly set up all the tents and then hurry to the beach to cool off and watch the sun drop.
The sun descends and brings an end to the day, even as the camping trip brings an end to the summer.
Summer and winter, springtime and harvest
Sun, moon and stars in their courses above
Join with all nature in manifold witness
To thy great faithfulness, mercy, and love
